Thesis

When should I find my thesis advisor?

Each graduate student must find a thesis advisor approved by the director of the Degree Program before the end of the first year after his/her admission. A thesis advisor should be a full-time or part-time faculty member of the school. Graduate students must submit the agreement of thesis supervision signed by the advisor. If it is necessary to invite a teacher outside of the school as the thesis advisor, the graduate student must state the reasons and apply for approval to the director of the Degree Program.

If it is necessary to change a thesis advisor, the graduate student must apply for the approval of both the former and new advisors before applying for an advisor change to the Degree Program. An advisor change must be approved by the director of the Degree Program.
